*This article on gender balance in YA award winners. As is everything these ladies post, it is fascinating and thought-provoking.
*Finally putting away the canning gear for the year. Not that I don't love canning. But it's been exhausting and hard on the old body. And I'm happy to have my kitchen a little less cluttered.
*Cozy fleece pjs, and the fact that they're needed. It was only 38 degrees again at bus stop time this morning.
*This adorable heron who just sat for the longest time up in a branch over the swamp yesterday. I don't think I've ever seen one sit up in a tree before.
*Making Christmas gifts. Love the momentum I have built up after the weekend. Of course, I still haven't finished the Halloween cards... :P
*Homeschool prep. Yeah, I know, this rarely makes the "good" stuff list...but I've been working on a short story unit we're going to be starting soon. And getting to read and sort through oodles of short stories to pick ones to use, and then getting to call it productivity to boot, well, that's pretty darn good!
*These little babies. (Though they also belong on the too-tempting-for-my-own-good stuff list.)
What the good stuff in your life today?

Good stuff if my life today: tweeters who alert me that they had fun things in the mail box, my hair was cut and styled beautifully by my friend Linda, yummy leftovers for lunch, I finished a book - woot!, laundry is almost done and the day isn't half over. :)

Being in the company of good friends in a wonderful place. There's also Harry Potter World to look forward to. :-)
Christmas gifts?! Oh my goodness!! Although you're right--it'll be here before we know it.
Canning. I'm hoping to do a little bit more by the end of fall. Maybe some apple butter or apple sauce. Definitely something apple. Have a good recipe for either of those? ;)
What a beautiful Heron!
