Dewey's Read-a-thon update...the final one...

Since last post:

On the clock:

--Reading: 33 min.

--On computer (blogging, commenting/cheering, etc.): 52 min.

--Other (doggie duties, etc.): 8 min.

--Sleep, or at least trying to: 412 min.

Between the covers:

--Number of pages: 13 pages

--What I read: started The Passage by Justin Cronin but just couldn't stay focused so only got 6 pages read in 20 minutes; when I got back up, I decided to start Have His Carcase by Dorothy L. Sayers instead

Down the hatch:

--Food: nothing

--Drink: cup of half caf coffee

Cumulatively:

On the clock:

--Reading: 605 min.

--On computer (blogging, commenting/cheering, mini-challenges): 253 min.

--Other: 158 min.

--Sleep: 415 min.

Between the covers:

--Number of pages: 497 pages

--What I've read: finished The Hot Zone by Richard Preston, Pretty Dead by Francesca Lia Block, barely started The Passage by Justin Cronin (but decided to read it some other time), and barely started Have His Carcase by Dorothy L. Sayers

Down the hatch:

--Food: 2 cherry scones, 8 veggie corn dog bites, 2 snack size Baby Ruths, scrambled eggs, 2 pieces homemade toast, Rotel dip and chips

--Drink: 3 cups half caf coffee, 1 huge mug cinnamon spice tea, 3 glasses Coke, 1 huge glass water

Miscellaneous comments: This was just a wonderful read-a-thon experience. I don't know exactly why it felt right to try this again this time around, but it did. And I'm so glad I did! It felt like a celebration of the sort Dewey set out to make it again. And it was so wonderful to see her remembered and appreciated again by those who knew her. There will never be a day when I don't miss Dewey! And in that, I know I'm not alone. Love you, Dewey!

And many, many thanks to those who worked so hard to bring everyone the joy that is Dewey's Read-a-Thon. I hope you know how very appreciated you are!
