these days...

loving: winter, furry friend snuggles, going to the library with Rich, moments of calm

reading: The Night Watch by Sarah Waters, Bad Science by Ben Goldacre, The Dead of the Night by John Marsden (with Max), Boom! Voices from the Sixties by Tom Brokaw (for homeschool)

dreading: writing the quarterly reports, seeing even less of Rich as the spring semester gets underway

listening to: Bob Dylan's Sweetheart Like You on repeat, Mario Bros. songs on piano (Gray keeps listening to these while doing his schoolwork), itty bitty kitty snores

planning for: winter break, this year's birthdays/holidays

watching: From the Earth to the Moon mini series, All the President's Men, Kolchak: The Night Stalker

looking forward to: winter break (yes, I realize it's too soon for that but it may well be my favorite week of the year), February's graphic novel reading theme,

making: a small cozy throw for Annie, February love notes for the family, lists

craving: sleep, pain-relief, frozen margaritas

Send some of those frozen margaritas this way. I wasn't craving them before but really am now!!!

I'm enjoying the first day of a 3-day weekend because our work closes for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Always a nice break after coming back from Christmas vacation and getting into the grind. I hope your upcoming winter break is a marvelous one.

We are having springlike temps today only to plunge back into winter tomorrow. It has been a weird, weird winter thus far.

You know, I think all the things to which you're looking forward more than outweigh the two that you're dreading. Just fill in the time when Rich is busy teaching or grading or whatever with some of the good stuff, and perhaps you won't miss him quite as much. I can't really offer an alternative to the quarterly reports, though. Sorry.

What I'm somewhat dreading here ... going to work out outside from 6 to 7 a.m. Monday through Wednesday when the temperature is forecast to be in the teens. Once the workout starts, I expect I shall be fine, but it's the thought that hurts right now.

I hope the weekend continues to wrap you in warmth. Hugs!

The Night Watch is the only Waters novel I have left! I'm saving it until she releases a new title. ;)

You know where there are lots of frozen margaritas? San Antonio, TX. I'm just sayin'… they were invented here, you know. I've never actually HAD one, but I COULD ask around and find out where one OUGHT to have one… ;)

Also… Night Watch. Hope you brought some tissues. Sobbiest Waters book EVER. I cried the whole time.

Oh this post just made me so happy :) Aside from you craving pain relief. Wish I could give that to you!! But all of the other things were very smile worthy :)

I'm very much looking forward to graphic novels in February as well! Two already came in at the library and I don't know if I'm going to be able to wait!
